Tijani was tired of the ill-happenings that befell his family. His wife, Romoke, had given birth to four children – all of them died before the age of ten. He called it quit.
Romoke moved on and later married Alani. The same fate repeated itself when their three children died before the age of eight.
Romoke was tagged the cursed one. Her name spread throughout the whole village.
It was in school of medicine I learnt that people who are of the same genotype, AS; will inevitably birth a sicklecell child. Romoke wasn’t cursed, she met with the wrong men.
