March Contest

Wise One

By March 12, 2019 No Comments

A cunning creature, a sly old beast; an ancient one, to say the least;
The topic of many a tale of woe, the fastest mind, though feet are slow;
A shell cracked from falling from the sky, stripped of wings he borrowed with petty lies;
Unaware of the troubles that would come, when greed led him to a magic drum;
Days spent plotting in his shell, finding new ways to serve himself;
His gluttony would be his end, he’d hang alone and with no friends;
For the tortoise is a greedy one, who believes in myths of his own wisdom.
