The Killer Stigma

Everything changed the moment I stepped inside that barber shop beside Tantalizer Restaurant. My body system changed — I was struck with fever, sore throat, and fatigue. Doctor said I was HIV positive. Heartbroken, I fainted.

After I was resuscitated, Doctor said I got the infection from the use of a clipper used on a HIV/AIDS patient.

My ‘friends’ have now left me in the lurch. They avoid me as though I were suffering from leprosy. They spread the rumour that I got HIV from a promiscuous lifestyle. It’s not my sickness that is killing me; it’s this killer stigma!
