A Woman's Journey

The Feminine Entity

At birth, getting only a glimpse because she is female, father refuses to enter the maternity ward on discovering that his first child is woman. He contributes zilch to her education, while eagerly awaiting her brideprice. At 29 and unmarried, society has no place for her in its fold, calls her an old maid while mother hounds her to bring home just any suitor. As a wife, in-laws call her barren just two years after marriage. She and Honey return together from work, ‘my food’, he bellows and the belt descends.
This is the journey of a feminine entity.
