Mother was mad

By June 6, 2019 No Comments

It crept in like an evil spirit; manifesting in violent fits, unearthly wails and shrieks. Her gaze, inquisitive, as if searching for meaning. The doctor shakes his head; fate has willed it to consume her.
Brother is sad, mother died last night. Grief has swallowed him. He’s crawled into bed, weeping into her pillow. Grief has fled from me, leaving only guilt. Watching her succumb to insanity was torment enough.
Father is glad; he loved her not. In the thighs of another he has found solace. Mother’s episodes irked him so, and with her pillow I silenced her madness forever.
