Greener Pastures

Machetes and Burning bodies

By September 5, 2019 No Comments

Today, I sent back their bodies.
We finally had a chance at life, but what I didn’t know was that it would cost us literally an arm and a leg – body parts they chopped off my parents.
After we moved here, things changed for the better but it was short-lived. We would never have left Nigeria, if happiness was a currency with which mama and papa could pay oga landlord, school fees, and buy some cups of garri, because though we didn’t have much we were contented with the little we had.
It was the society that wasn’t satisfied.
