I dwell in the abyss that is your deepest fears, in the dark corners of your heart illumined by only moonlight. At night when you tussle on the bed reliving your failures and worry, I feast. Engorged from your terror, I make even the thought of your continued existence a burden when you rise in the morning. And you sigh, ‘Another day…’
I am the dread that stalks all your daring decision, drawing the rein as you shy from commitment. Eventually, I’d kill you. It matters not that you know of my existence. For you see, I am you.
