‘I will kill you today’
I jumped awake, thinking they are at it again.
‘kill me, you coward!’ she shrieked, I could hear the sound of something breaking.
Wide awake now and confused, I fumbled around in the dark, trying to collect my thoughts. No, it can’t be dad and mum. Calling him a coward is a rookie mistake. The sound of my crying neighbour made it certain..
The next day, she told me, tears streaming down her puffy cheeks, ‘it is my fault, I annoyed my boyfriend’. She is just 19.
The pattern continues, past meets present meets future.
