I felt the knife pierce my body from behind, my fingers gripped the sponge I was using to wash the dishes, funny but I could still hear the sound of our leaky faucet. I’ve heard many talk about death, of how your life flashes before your eyes, sadly it wasn’t so for me. The most painful part was I didn’t have to turn around to see my killer. I should’ve left him when the excessive drinking and beatings had started instead of accepting his flimsy apologies. What a fool I was to think I could avoid this inevitable end.
