“Nigeria, we hail thee!
Our own dear native land,
Though tribe and tongue may differ,
In brotherhood we stand,
Nigerians all are proud to serve,
Our sovereign motherland”
-They sang in unison with so much gladness in their hearts.
It was the first day of the new month
They sang every lyrics from the bottom of their hearts.
In their mind it was the birth of a new dawn.
Sadly they don’t sing no more,
The sun never shined.
They still look up in the east
With hope that one day a ray might drop
And dry their tears away.
